U.S. Cartridge Company, .45-70 Government, 405 Grain Bullet, 2 Piece Box

Rare! Box is an Indian War era box, 1879 with the Frazier’s Patent 1878 system which was very short lived. Originally designed to drop into a Soldier’s leather cartridge box. This cartridge box was short lived and therefore so was this box. Very few made for a short time and fewer exist today. Part of the patent that is unique to this box and other calibers in this series is the cardboard serpentine divider. This was supposed to help support and separate the cartridges as its more durable or thicker that standard dividers.
